The Two Sheet Wonder, pt 4

Finishing the Two Sheet Wonder

And finally the last 3 cards!  Can you believe I'm on cards 13-15?!?  If you're new to my blog - check out how I started my Two Sheet Wonder.

Card set #4 - Two Sheet Wonder

For card #14 I took the opportunity to finally put that watercolor paper to use.  I've done watercolor before, but not on cards.  These are some of the pieces I completed back in July 2017.

 .

Watercolor can be a lot of fun, so I was excited to use it on my current card.  I had never tried to complete it with a water brush and ink, so it was a little different from my previous work.  I really enjoyed putting the two together.

For the layout, I chose to use a sketch with some fun angles.  I chose one with a large center area so I would have a large enough area for the stamp I had chosen.  I flipped and rotated the sketch for the card.

I love this retired set, From the Herd, from Stampin' Up.  I spent part of my youth living on a farm and truly enjoyed hanging out with the animals and seeing their personalities.  We raised goats for a while and I would play hide-n-go-seek with them in the tall grass.  This stamp totally gives each of the animals' personalities too.  Can't you just see them playing birthday party games?  😂

Card #13, Two Sheet Wonder - "Just for you from the herd"

Card #14 uses mostly lines in different ways to counter each other.  I love the varying angles of the stripes.  The angles pull you into the birthday sentiment.  I stamped "Birthday Wishes" from Sincere Salutations (Stampin' Up) then used their Everyday Label Punch and added a mat in grey cardstock.  Overall the card is fairly simple and to the point and I can easily use it for a masculine birthday.
Card #14, Two Sheet Wonder - "Birthday Wishes"

And finally, my last and final card from this project for a total of 15 cards.  Card #15 uses the adorable Party Pandas stamp set from Stampin' Up.  Pandas always remind me of AOII and this is a fantastic, fun set.  I created the circle background with Simple Shapes from Stampin' Up by inking the stamp and then spraying it with water to create a varying tone.  I cut the balloon from a sheet of silver glitter paper and added some bling as the bottom of the balloon and throughout the background.

Card #15, Two Sheet Wonder - "Happy Birthday Panda"

That's it!  15 cards from 2 sheets of design paper!  What do you think?  Do you have the blues too now?

The Two Sheet Wonder, pt. 3

The Challenge Continues!

So close to the end of another school year!  I can hardly believe that in 13 school days I'll be finishing my 20th year of teaching.   So much to do in such little time!  Today I'm sharing group #3 from my two sheet wonder.  You can check out the full templates on my previous post.

Here are today's layouts for this group of cards.

I started card #9 by adjusting the layout, I decided I wanted to use a larger sentiment and didn't want to completely hide the paisley, so I offset both so I could still use the sentiment from Stick-a-bilities.  I added some texture with Park Lane's diamond embossing folder, using lines to counter the swoops of the paisley.  I finished off with some gems from Recollections.

Card #9, Two Sheet Wonder - "Happy Birthday"

Card #10 has lots of sparkle!  Not only did I use a small circle of silver glitter paper, I also used a navy ribbon with glitter, double colored glitter gems and and iridescent glitter embossing powder.  Yikes!  Too much?!?  Nah!  Every now and then a gal needs some bling, right?

Card #10, Two Sheet Wonder - "Congrats"

To really make the sentiment stand out I used a triple layer of embossing over the white ink so it not only has plenty of shine, it also has some depth.

Card #11 is one of my favs.  I love the combination of these flowers.  I used one of my favorite older and retired stamps sets.  I stamped the flowers with Stampin' Up's Hearftfelt Thanks with Blueberry Bushel on the white and stamped the outline with Paris Dusk.  The Navy flowers were stamped first with Whisper White and then outlined with Tuxedo Black.  I love the way the angle of the planks show off the multiple colors used for the wood.

Card #11, Two Sheet Wonder - "You're the Best"

I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and to the sentiment I had stamped in Whisper White to give each of them some extra spunk, then finished with jewels as the flower centers and on the banner.  I adore ribbon and this Night of Navy corduroy ribbon from Stampin' Up is one of my favs.

Finally, for card #12 I used multiple layers of paper and overlapped several pieces to really give a feeling of "hooray" moving forward.  I once again used my navy glitter ribbon and a few blue jewels and added Wink of Stella on the sentiment to make it shine.

Card #12, Two Sheet Wonder - "Hooray"

I just love the shimmer of Wink of Stella!  Hopefully you can see just how beautiful that product is!

That's my set of 4 for tonight!  Can you believe that I already have 12 cards from 2 sheets of paper and there's still more?!?

The Two Sheet Wonder, pt 2!

The plan continues!

Time to continue my cards from the two sheet wonder! I continued with my templates and planned sketches for cards five through eight and came up with these next cards that clearly have the blues!

My fifth card pulls in the same navy and grey cardstock from Recollections' Storm Clouds and Boutique Floral.  I love their 110lb cardstock.  The sentiments are from two stamp sets:  Better Together and Heard from the Heart, both from Stampin' Up.  Navy and blue ribbon add feminine touch to the rustic wood.

Card #5 - "Happy Birthday Wishes"

I added a little extra spunk with some glitter paper to my next one from this set.  For the ribbon I took a piece of Whisper White ribbon and used my Stampin' Blend in Light Smoky Slate to create a ribbon that matched the colors of the card since I don't own any grey.  (True shocker!  I'm a huge ribbon fan!) 😆

I used VersaMark frost to stamp a background design under my sentiment from Stampin' Up's Label Love which I stamped in Memento Paris Dusk. I used circle punches to create some layers for the sentiment.

Card #6 - "Happy Birthday to You"

I wanted to break up the blues a little more in this one so I took a piece of the grey from Storm Clouds and embossed it with Park Lane's Diamond folder for card #7.  I paired it with "Congrats" from Stampin' Up's Simply Wonderful and a Night of Navy corduroy ribbon and gems.

Card #7 - embossed, "Congrats"

Finally, for card number 8, I mixed in some of the teal color from the Oceans pack.  I love the scroll of the stamp with the swirls of the paisley on this card!  With graduations and weddings coming up, I decided to use "Congrats" as my sentiment again and created a double mat by cutting the label I punched with Everyday Label in half vertically.  This card gives me the feeling of stain glass windows.
Card #8 - "Congrats"

That's it for set #2!  Let me know what you think!  I'm really loving having the 'blues'!

My First Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up

Paper Pumpkin Fun!

Since I've been in the mood to try new things I thought I'd step outside my usual form of card making and try the Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up.  Sadly, life has taken me a while to actually get around to pulling it out to use it (though I did eagerly open it to see all the goodies and make one card!).  I started with a card outside the box instructions about mid April.  I originally posted it on Pinterest and entered it into Try Stamping On Tuesday.  I was super excited to have it chosen as a top 3.

Once I finished up my one sheet wonders and 6x6 challenges I was finally ready to take on the box.  😏

I loved the idea of not only using it in the original designs, but also coming up with some of my own so I did my version of a few cards that I found on Pinterest (including a fun Z-fold!) and developed a few of my own.

Z-fold "It's Your Birthday"

Birthday Cake "It's Your Birthday"

Gift Boxes "Happy Birthday"
Birthday Cake and Party Hat "It's Your Birthday"

I recently purchased 'Bella and Friends' from Stampin' Up.  With my love for dogs, I couldn't resist adding my new stamp set images as well.  💜🐶

Bella - "Happy Birthday"

"Happy Birthday to You"

My next one is inspired by this amazing ribbon I found that matched.  I just love the balloons!

Balloons - "Happy Birthday to You"

Of course, I had to keep a few pop ups!

Bella Pop-up - "Happy Birthday to You"

I had a great time seeing how many different styles of cards I could make and I still have several pieces left to make a few more!  I'm sure there are more Paper Pumpkin kits in my future.  😉

Craft Show Fun

Decided it was time to clear out some of my cards so I participated in a couple of craft shows with my dear friend,  Karen.  She makes awes...
